Behavioral Support
As a Behavior Intervention Specialist, I have been trained in Restorative Practices, and use this as the foundation to support students at Southview. Restorative Practices complements the social-emotional movement–educating the whole child through strategies to build productive mindsets, supportive cultures and character development. More specifically, RP uses questioning in hopes of inducing empathy, self-reflection and accountability (Gettingsmart.com).
Creating and maintaining strong relationships with students, families and teachers that I work with is my goal. I am intentional in maintaining open, honest and trusting conversations allowing all students to know they are heard and valued. Through these conversations, we problem solve and create individualized goals as needed.
